L.U.V. Program
L.U.V. stands for "Lonely?: Unburdening your Vulnerability." The program was developed by Sean Seepersad, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Child, Family, and Consumer Sciences. The seven week program
is for CSUF students, 18 years or older, who are experiencing feelings of loneliness, isolation, sadness, or alienation from others. It is also for individuals who have trouble
developing friendships with others.
Lonely individuals may think, feel or act in ways that keep them trapped in their situation of loneliness. They may also lack some of the knowledge or skills necessary to create or deepen their friendships with others. The
L.U.V. program works by helping such individuals understand themselves and teaching them vital skills they need to establish and deepen their friendships with others. Participants of the program will find a supportive group environment, where they can hear experiences from a variety of people, share their own stories, and learn from each other.
In addition to weekly meetings, participants are given informative reading packets about different aspects of loneliness and some assignments to complete. For more information, please check the website:
