Experience and Research: Since 1983 Kabeljit has had numerous opportunities to experience different diverse roles in the field of Early Childhood Education. She has worked for a variety of organizations such as Head Start, AB212 CARES Program, and WestEd, Center for Child Family Studies. Since 2003 she has had the opportunity to work as an adjunct faculty/Lab Coordinator for the State Center Community College, and part-time lecturer for the Child Family Consumer Sciences Department at California State University.
Kabeljit has always had passion for children and families. She is an advocate for child-initiated curriculum and environments. She strongly supports the anti-bias approach, and the project approach. She also believes that exposure to Character Education molds children to be respectful and socially competent as adults. She is a co-author of an article that was published in the textbook, Next Steps toward Teaching the Reggio Way, (2nd ed.) Her recent knowledge and interest in the Hanna Perkins Consultation Model has been inspirational.
